Iron Lines now trading out of Dubai

HONG KONG, March 1, 2005 - Iron Lines, a Hong Kong-based company moving heavy freight to anywhere in the world and trading in all types of used heavy industrial and construction equipment, is a new force in regional shipping, transport and logistics services.

The company's flagship is the Iron Butterfly, a RO/RO Heavy Lift Vessel with a 180-ton capacity main ramp, two 35-ton hydraulic cranes and hydraulic adjustable hatch covers. Her GRT is 4284 and NRT is 1285. Built by the in Germany in 1983 for the specific purpose of transporting tanks to underdeveloped ports in Africa, the Iron Butterfly is a well-maintained ship capable of handling diverse break bulk and RO/RO cargo. With MAK main engines capable of using IFO 120 fuel at 10 tons/day, she is extremely economical to operate.  The fully IMS and IMO certified vessel, with its 3-meter draft, is ideally suited to pickup and delivery of heavy items in ports inaccessible to other heavy lift ships. 

The Iron Butterfly is now operating on a liner basis between ports in the U.A.E., Karachi, Mumbai, and Bandar Abas.
