April 2006 - Iron Lines Establishes Pakistan / India Route

Iron Lines flagship “Iron Butterfly” has now successfully established a regular route from Dubai to Mumbai via Karachi. Return voyages vary depending on demand and may include port calls at various Gulf Ports such as Doha or Kuwait.

A wide variety of cargos are now being carried. From heavy equipment to oil rigs, pipes and flat steel products to cars and busses. This regular service is providing a vital trade link between India and the Gulf for cargos not suited to containers. A strong response from shippers has led to led to expansion projects and it hoped a second vessel will join the route shortly.

 
Nov 2005 -
Iron Butterfly undergoes refit

Services were delayed for a week in November to allow Iron Butterfly to undergo Annual Surveys and to complete a refit. All maintenance, sand blasting and repainting was accomplished in a week and she was returned to service.


March 2006 - Iron Lines installs new computerized stowage planning

A new computer system has been established in house to address the specific needs of our shippers. This exiting new software enables real time co-ordination between ports, shippers and the ship. It enables safe concise stowage plans to be generated which not only maximize hold utilization but ensure safe secure stowage for the wide variety of cargos being shipped.


April 2006 - Iron Lines installs new vessel tracking system

This new system automatically monitors the position of the ship by following the signal of the Inmarsat System on board. It does this with no input from the ship’s crew. This tool enables more accurate voyage planning and provides greater security. The vessel's position and voyage history can be viewed via the internet, enabling shore based staff to monitor voyage progress from any PC.
